The Multi Media/After School Project
Peace from Paul has formed a partnership with Tucson High Magnet School to build a state-of-the-art sound and recording studio that will provide local high school students with opportunities to learn all aspects of studio production. This professionally equipped center will establish a space to promote and empower young musicians in developing confidence in their creative potentials. The studio will create opportunities for youth to learn and explore their musical skills including writing and performing live music, as well as technical skills such as working with music software, PA sound systems, recording equipment, and video and still cameras.
Our Inspiration
Our son, brother, cousin and friend, Paul Goguen, a Tucson High Magnet School student, attended The Collective Sound™ summer program in California. A talented and aspiring musician, he described his experience there as “powerful” and “life-changing”. Paul died by suicide in October 2008. In his honor, Peace from Paul is adopting The Collective Sound™ model to provide the “sparks” where young people can develop their creative talents in an atmosphere of acceptance and nurturance. Peace from Paul will utilize local performers and music technicians, who will provide guidance in musicianship and/or technical skills, encourage creativity and expression while serving as adult mentors for our youth.
